Peter Gottfried
Founder, President
Peter K. Gottfried is President of Natural Systems Analysts, Inc. (NSA), an environmental and GIS consulting firm he founded in 1985. His professional responsibilities include business development, finance and accounting, human resources, project management, and technical specialist support on NSA projects. His work has included science and technical support services, public lands monitoring, GIS-based habitat assessment, natural resource mapping, flood-prone area analysis, submerged aquatic vegetation monitoring, and environmental planning for federal, tribal, and public-sector clients.
Peter also serves on the Wyoming Energy Resources Council and recently earned certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager, adding current floodplain management expertise to his long-standing environmental, GIS, and natural resources qualifications. Mr. Gottfried is also a licensed real estate Broker in Florida and Wyoming, giving him special knowledge in real estate matters.

Chris Gottfried serves on the Faculty at William & Mary as an Adjunct Professor of Law and Instructor of Finance. He is the Program Director of the Master of Legal Studies program and faculty lead for the Compliance & Risk Management program. Chris' academic areas of focus are: Bank Regulation, Consumer Finance Law, Corporate Finance, Digital Assets and Blockchain, and Legal Technology (AI for Legal Practice).
In practice, he has almost 20 years of experience as a banker, attorney, compliance officer, and consultant. He has led enterprise-wide projects in the areas of regulatory compliance and remediation, risk assessments, and program assessments at large financial institutions and fintechs. His industry areas of focus are: Operational Risk Management, Compliance and Governance Frameworks, Compliance Audit, Commercial Banking, and Regulatory Policy.
